MESSAGE FROM NPAA PRESIDENT, Joyce Loyd-Davis

Dear Members and Supporters,

I hope you are having a wonderful summer and staying safe.  I represented NPAA at the National American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) Conference held in Orlando, FL. last week.  The conference had great sessions with opportunities to take pearls of wisdom back to your practice.  There was a very informative legislative update and the opportunity to connect with leaders within AANP.  There were several NPs across the state of Alabama present, I enjoyed meeting many of you and connecting on issues commonly plaguing in our state. Please know our VP of Legislation, Lisa Pair and her team will continue to look at opportunities or initiatives to advance practice for NPs in our state.

We are continuing the work and efforts to plan our state conference October 14-15th in Mobile.  Registration is open, so please register soon to attend this awesome conference. If you know any vendors that might be interested in participating, please contact Denise Williams and provide her with information to follow up.  We are currently seeking items for the silent auction and we welcome any leads for collecting those items.  Please contact Denise Williams or Jo Guice if you can assist us in this effort.  It’s not too late for you to get involved and help the conference committee, just email us indicating your interest to help.

The executive team will meet virtually on July 28th at 6:00pm and the Steering Committee at 7:00pm.  We look forward to meeting with each of you soon.  I would like to thank Brandy Young, Chair of the PAC Committee and her team for their hard work in organizing the committee and structuring the process for future donations from the PAC committee.  They are seeking a couple of additional committee members, so let us know if you are interested in serving on this committee.

Wishing a happy upcoming July 4th holiday and thank you for all you do to care for patients across the state of Alabama.

Sincerely,

Joyce Loyd-Davis

Congratulations to the 2022 AANP Alabama Award for Excellence Recipients

Presented annually, this prestigious award recognizes outstanding achievements by nurse practitioners (NPs) and NP advocates in each state and honors recipients during the AANP National Conference. Established in 1991, the State Award for Excellence is given to an NP in each state who demonstrates excellence in clinical practice.
